So we are Middle Class. Mentally. Financially. Emotionally. And as Middle Class, one thing that is handed down generations is Saving. For that Rainy Day. In anything. And we get so ingraining in doing is Saving.

Of course, this is no revelation. Not even meant to be.

This is an anecdote. That involves Savings, Rainy Day and my vourite. person. My Dad. Remember the Teenager in the Body of an Elder? Him.

So this story has its background years ago, when they started saving. So money we had was first saved, then used. For that "Rainy Day." As a kid I was mentally scratching my head. Because each year it rained, but I never saw that money being used. Then I grew up and understand the loading of that Phrase(mind you, it looks like 2 words, but actually it is phrase!)!!!

Anyway, so while other people spent money, got expensive gadgets, splurged on holidays we SAVED. Money that went to various forms. In fact my saddest part of life was when my film was selected to play in New York, I was set and excited to go. Dad Called.

He again charmingly and convincingly cajoled me into why I shouldn't go (for my own film screening) and save for that, you guessed it, Rainy Day! I didn't. Added, was also the fact that that year rains actually were sparse and Rainy Days in 2009 few and far between!

Life went on. Monsoons also. And now lets fast forward to now.

Like I said, now I live with them(yes, I live with them, they don't live with me: remember the guys who believed in the Rainy Day... that the point.. see we saved, here we are!), we still save.

Dad now has low fat milk. So the other day, we ordered some packs for him. A few days later I asked how many are left. In his usual charming demeanor, he said "Oh nearly as much!" I stopped doing whatever I was. I informed him we have had the cartons for a while. He can have them. He turned around to say "I am Saving them!" I was astounded. Money you save, at 48 I now kind of get it, but MILK!!!!! Milk is perishable! How can you save milk????? Won't it get spoiled? Mentally again, I scratched my head!

I asked him. For once he had no answer. Guess what he did. Got up, went to the next room and put his earphones on! Such a Teenager!

The earphones he had got with his savings for his Rainy Day!
