2020 : Unforgettable Teacher

2020 was to be a landmark

It was the end of the 2nd decade

There it came in all its glory, pomp and show

Started so well, it was too good.

They said it would be so, after all it was 2020.

Then came March and it hit us all hard.

The world stood still, unified as can be.

All manmade facilties were redundant for once.

All that matters this year was self.

We made best of what we had.

Locked up yes, locked down yes.

But how can you keep the spirit of survival down?

Some evolved, some blended, some rose,

New talents learnt, Old skills brushed up

Ties were renewed.

We touched base with our inner selves.

With our kith and kin like never before.

Unfinished business was done and dusted at last!

The pause button hit in careers,

Became the play mode in other speheres.

We evovled, we survived.

Struck by a blow, we recovered.

Some stood up, some staggered up,

But upward was the trend.

Zoom replaced Traffic. It got detours.

Like Google Meet, Teams and more.

Classes got Online.

There was no Office Rush. No school rush.

No burnt breakfasts, no hungry school kids.

Internationally families connected. Friends too.

We pushed limits, boundaries and ourselves too!

2020 came to teach

2020 came to make us learn

it was the year of Reinvent. Relaunch. Reboot.

Like Shani(Saturn), it taught us.

Showed us what matters most.

Ourselves. Our power. Our family.
